Present for a friend July 27, 2010 John Ferguson (Atlanta, GA USA) The humidor was ordered for a friend. It arrived on time as ordered and the friend was delighted with the constrution and look of the humidor. I would order the item from this seller again.
Great humidor July 25, 2010 tracydraper Great humidor. Holds in humidity very well. I have found that the humidity flucuates between 69 and 72%. The craftsmanship is extremely good, you can tell it's quality as soon as you take it out of the box. I've had it for three months now and haven't had any problems. Holds slightly less than the 50 cigars (6"x50). Overall extremely pleased.

I will start by saying that yes, this is an attractive box to store your smokes in. The glass top is a nice touch. It feels heavy and the lid closes tight with some good weight to it as well. I dont mind having this on display in my living room. Seems to hold about 40 cigars or so. Maybe you could squeeze in 50 if they were a bit smaller gauge. Now there is really only one negative for me. Its a pretty big negative which is why my rating went from a 5 to a 3 star.
The Hygrometer does NOT come attached to the humidor. It comes in a separate little box along with the humidifier. Sounds like no biggie, right? Well I really cant believe noone else has said this, but the Hygrometer doesnt fit properly in the hole in the from of the humdor. It comes with a Magnet for the back of it, but if you try to use the magnet to hold it in place, A- it will not read correctly, B- It does not seal tight or proper. It just kinda hangs there waiting to get bumped so you have to adjust it again. It came with a rubber ring around the base which made it so I could not even push it in the hole in from of the humidor. afer I removed the rubber ring it was simply too loose. wiggling around and not sealed proper, with a cheap magnet holding it in place.
My solution was to Super Glue the hygrometer to the humidor. Now it is in place and not moving around. I think I set it well enough to keep the humidity in pretty good. So now that it is GLUED in place it is totally just for looks. It reads at just over 50% humidity no matter what I do. Bah, whatever. I have a humidity stick in there so i know the cigars are fine, but the hygrometer is usless and a pain in the arse. Really just dissapointing that it did not come already attached to the damn humidor. I would not buy another one. Ill make sure to research better in the future. But it serves its purpose now, and looks attractive enough.
Hope this helps.
Humidor July 2, 2010 A. Lam Humidor is very nice and can fit many cigars. It was very easy to calibrate the hydrogmeter initially. When you attach the hydrogmeter to the humidor, the reading is way off. I would recommend getting a digital reader. Otherwise it is a good humidor.
You get what you pay for June 24, 2010 J. Desmond 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this humidor because it was pretty close to the total price of the cigars I had leftover from a party, and I figured I could save the cigars and the humidor would pretty much pay for itself. Straight out of the box, I was pleased. It's pretty and seemed sturdy.
I did the salt test to calibrate the hygrometer. It was considerably off. I tried a variety of different small screwdrivers to try to adjust it, but without success. The groove in the screw was so shallow as to be almost completely flat, and none of the assorted screwdrivers could get enough grip to adjust it. OK, whatever, I can do the math in my head.
So I went to put the hygrometer into the hole into the front of the humidor so I could seal everything up and start seasoning. Well, while pressing the hygrometer into place, I must have put a bit of pressure on the open lid or something, because the lid actually fell off. The screws holding the hinges in just kind of tore out of the cardboard/fiberboard core. It wasn't that much pressure, I assure you. So now I have wood putty in the old holes and am trying to repair this thing. The hygrometer is still not sitting flush in the hole and you can see the rubber ring around it, which is not attractive. With the lid off, I tried really pressing that thing in there, but it won't go all the way in.
It's honestly not worth the shipping cost to return it, so I will keep it, repair it, and it will probably serve its function well enough if I buy an after-market hygrometer. But I would definitely not buy this again.
